Spying on homes again

{Source}

Today I have been sewing like a crazy person and seem to have misplaced my brain. It feels a little fried, but I’m working on a store update for tomorrow. I’m happy that I’ve got quite a bit to add to Etsy and the online store. Need to take photos of everything now.

Anyway, looking at these homes has made me feel better and a bit more human. They look so cosy. Time for coffee now.

All that glitters is Mercury?!?

Villagers

{Source}

Us Irish are more accustomed to pots of gold but I’m sure Conor J O’Brien (aka Villagers) won’t mind a bit of mercury, in the shape of The Mercury Prize.

Villagers’, fronted by Conor J O’Brien, nominated album ‘Becoming a Jackal’ has wowed critics and music lovers for it’s incredibly personal lyrics and it’s dark and intense mood. And yes I love it. It’s these qualities that keep me listening alongside the folksy simplicity of the album, that strikes a chord with me.

‘Becoming a Jackal’, the first single from the album, is a dreamy, wonderful and amazing track that comes with a slightly disturbing yet hauntingly beautiful video (watch out for the dancing pigs). It’s not the most recent track from them but for me, it’s always been one of my favourites.

I’m delighted that Villagers has attracted the attention of the Mercury Prize panel and I wish them the best of luck. And with their odds at the bookies jumping from 25/1 to 10/1, we might have an Irish winner on our hands. Place your bets. . . NOW!

Let me know what you think of the video and track.

Who lives in a house like this

…not me.

{Source}

Peering through the keyholes of other person’s home would generally be frowned on, also be a little weird. Not to mention difficult, you wouldn’t see much. So before you imagine me trying to spy into houses by kneeling in front of a keyhole trying desperately to see something interesting, I don’t…but I’ll curtain twitch. I am so happy that the people on the other side of the keyhole like to show off their gorgeous homes.

Just an extra image of a workspace, it fits into two of my obsessions. A home office and storage solution. I have a lot of things that need a storage solution, or need to be sent away never to return (the scary clear out).
I like how they have cleverly used a tiny amount of space, even if it is a bit claustrophobic.

This is how I store my hundreds of pens. In old mugs, tin cans and ceramic yogurt pots (In france I got a yogurt and it came in a ceramic pot!).

I want crate shelves like this, it looks so pretty!

Speaking of pretty…look at the amount of pink in this shot.

Frilly knickers are the future

{BY CLARE BARE}

Gorgeous frilly knickers…who doesn’t want a few of these. I definitely do want some and have some, but I want more. For a while I’ve wanted to make my own, but haven’t found any help on how to go about it. Lucky me though, I came across this video from Threadbanger by Clare Bare.

To make the pattern just take apart one frilly knicker, I know it’s not nice to part with any pretty ones. Go for the worst, I did. Trace around them for your template. I have yet to make some frilly knickers but I will definitely give it a go. So here is the video:

Love you

Inside 'Love you' bag

Ah I think I might talk about Love too much, I’m starting to wonder myself if I’m turning into a stereotypical hippie. No not possible, I like my monthly wash. Yes I am joking, I’m a fan of showering.

Well here is my new bag, this is the prototype or test. A simple shopper bag. With a hidden stretch of ribbon that wraps around the bag when it’s rolled up to keep it together. I’m thinking of making more of these with a different fabric but with the same print on it.

At the moment this is my favourite print, the ‘Love you’ print. Mainly because it’s new but also because it’s a pretty massive heart. I’ve already printed on some t-shirts (which I will add to the store soon), and will probably go crazy this weekend stamping everything with ‘Love you’.

Bag in progresss

I hope that you like this bag, or maybe even ‘love’ it. Haha. After driving myself mental today trying to understand PHP, which can’t be done, I’m going to do some much needed baking. I’ll make brownies, so excited! I’m hungry already, would it be wrong to eat brownies for dinner? That’s all I want, and milk.
